Ruegemer powers win over Little Falls

A hat trick and two assists by sophomore forward Phil Ruegemer helped the Cathedral JV beat Little Falls 6-3 Feb. 3 at the MAC. Senior Dylan Donnay chipped in with a goal and two assists. Sophomore forward Chris Hornung recorded a goal and an assist. Frosh forward Matt Fritz scored unassisted. Defensemen Austen Smith, Al Hornung and Tommy Auger combined for four assists. JV dumps Fergus Falls

The Cathedral JV defeated Fergus Falls 6-2. Feb. 3 at the MAC's Ritsche Arena. No RinkWriter scoresheet was kept.

Cathedral loses heartbreaker in overtime

The Cathedral JV rallied to a tie in the third period against a talented St. Michael-Albertville team Jan. 26 at the MAC, only to lose 3-2 in overtime. B Boys blank Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato

A breakaway goal by Dylan Donnay was the gamewinner in a 3-0 Cathedral JV win over Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato Jan. 24 at Litchfield Civic Arena. Kyle Koopmeiners pitched in with a powerplay goal. Kyle Haag tipped in a strong shot by Jordan Maetche. Zach Fritz earned the shutout in goal.

Back on track: Cathedral JV beats Apollo 2-0

The CHS JV ended its three-game losing streak with a 2-0 win over Apollo High School Jan. 17 at the MAC. In the second period, forward Kyle Koopmeiners drew first blood with a powerplay goal on helpers from Al Hornung and Matt Fritz. Sam LaBine capped the scoring with an even-strength goal in the third. B Boys split on northern trip

The JV Crusaders hammered Crookston 8-1 Jan. 6, then lost 5-0 in Warroad Jan. 7. Coach Tom Bruce's boys amassed 33 shots against the Pirates Friday. Zach Fritz saved 20. Breakfast and a 90-minute bus ride the next day made for a tough noon time start on the shores of Lake of the Woods. Fritz saved 25 against the Warriors in a 5-0 loss. View the Warroad game photos. Jameson leads JV to 7-0 win

A Brandon Jameson hat trick keyed a 7-0 defeat of Mora/Hinckley-Finlayson Dec. 22 at the MAC. The forward scored his third goal on an assist from his younger brother, Ryan Jameson. Kyle Koopmeiners chipped in with a pair of goals. Also scoring were Dylan Donnay and Sam LaBine. LaBine's tally was shorthanded. Zach Fritz saved seven. CHS recorded 41 shots on goal. PP clicks in Sauk Rapids win

Phil Ruegemer scored twice to lead the JV Crusaders to a 6-2 win over Sauk Rapids-Rice Dec. 17 at the MAC. Nick Golebiowski drew first blood for CHS, with a goal 4:21 into the game. A Nick Golebiowski even-strength goal 8:36 into the game held up as the gamewinner in a 3-0 defeat of Rochester Lourdes Dec. 9 at the MAC. The JV also got goals from Phil Ruegemer and Kyle Haag. The JV Crusaders defeated Little Falls 6-0 Dec. 6 at Exchange Arena, Little Falls.

JV Crusaders tie Sabres

A Nick Golebiowski goal with 3.9 seconds remaining helped Cathedral earn a 5-5 tie against Sartell-St. Stephen Dec. 2 at Bernick's Pepsi Arena in Sartell. It was the sophomore forward's second goal of the game. Also scoring were freshman forward Matt Fritz, sophomore forward Ryan Jameson and sophomore forward Chris Hornung. Zach Fritz was in goal.
